We are so grateful that you all will be coming to Charlottesville to spend the weekend with us.  We are certainly biased, but we think that Charlottesville is truly a special place.  Most people know Charlottesville as the place that Thomas Jefferson built his home, Monticello, and where he founded the University of Virginia.  As such, Charlottesville is filled with rich history and beautiful architecture.  It is nestled within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains which not only adds to its picturesque beauty but also offers a myriad of opportunities for the outdoor enthusiasts.  The landscape is dotted with a bunch of cool breweries, distilleries, and vineyards that offer scenic views and fun settings to spread out a picnic blanket.  If you're more inclined to stay closer in to town, Charlottesville itself has an absolutely charming pedestrian downtown area replete with neat local shops, restaurants and bars, a dine-in movie theater, and an outdoor amphitheater with free concerts on Fridays.  We're hoping that you'll get a chance to explore a little bit of Charlottesville while you're here, so check out recommendations for a few of our favorite spots below!
