Friday Night

where to park downtown for the welcome party:

  • Certainly, feel free to catch an Uber or taxi to and from the welcome party on Friday night -- Charlottesville is fairly compact, so your rides should be pretty convenient and affordable.
  • If you prefer to drive and park, we recommend the Market Street Garage, the Water Street Garage, or the parking lot at the Omni Hotel.  There are also two public parking lots near the Water Street Garage that are convenient as well.  See below in the "Parking Downtown" section for maps and details on their fees and operating hours.  All of these parking options are available (and recommended) for any other excursions that you may take to the Downtown Mall during wedding weekend.
  • We will have buses going back to the hotels at the end of the night (see next section below) and will have plenty of room on the buses if you want to catch a ride home (even if you parked or Uber'd downtown).

shuttles back to hotels at the end of the night:

  • The "Early" bus will depart from Old Metropolitan Hall at 9:30 pm and will drop guests off at any or all of our hotel blocks.
  • There will be two buses available outside the welcome party venue at 11:00 pm.  They will each have a sign in their window designating their hotel destinations.

Saturday Evening

Getting to the ceremony:

  • Buses will depart from the Inn at Darden, Hampton Inn, Graduate, and Draftsman hotels at 5:15 pm.
  • Guests will then be shuttled to Farmington Country Club immediately following the ceremony.

departing the reception at the end of the evening:

  • An early bus will depart from Farmington back to hotels at 10:00 pm
  • All other buses leave at the end of the night at 12:00 am and will be returning guests to the Inn at Darden, Graduate, Draftsman, and Hampton Inn hotels.

Sunday Morning

getting to sunday brunch at the farm:

  • Since everyone will be on their own travel schedule, please come by for a delicious breakfast and a farewell any time between 10am - 12:30pm.
  • There is plenty of space for parking on-site so feel free to drive yourself, or you can catch an Uber or taxi to the farm.  Many people will be leaving straight from the farm for the airport, so you may be able to share rental cars or Ubers to the airport after breakfast!

Parking Downtown

our suggestions for parking in downtown charlottesville:

  • Since the Downtown Mall is a pedestrian mall, there are not a whole lot of street parking options around it, so we recommend paying to park in one of the garages or lots below.
  • Do not be intimidated by the term "downtown" -- it is charming and easy to navigate (unlike the Atlanta that Rachel knows).
  • For the Welcome Party, you cannot go wrong with any of these choices, but the Market Street Garage or Water Street Garage are probably your closest and most reliable options.
